Diesel Nissan Titan Gets Tough

Diesel Nissan Titan

The new diesel Nissan Titan was made for the driver that wants their truck to be tough.

If you want your pickup to be big, tough, and bold, the new diesel Nissan Titan was made for you. Nissan has taken macho and rugged to the extreme with the 2016 Titan, in hopes of reviving the pickup’s demand and pulling in a much bigger market share.

When the Titan’s designers went to work, they took inspiration from the truck’s name. In an effort to make the pickup a “titan” among its rivals, the designers used the Titan’s new design to bring to life the toughest warriors and athletes they could imagine. According to USA Today, the designers at Nissan’s design headquarters in San Diego studied the images of bulky NFL players and armored gladiators, even posting pictures around their offices. The result? A modern, muscular pickup with masculine hardware and bold character lines.

The Titan doesn’t just appear to be powerful; it actually is. One of the Titan’s biggest advantages it its new 5.0-liter Cummins V8 diesel engine, which promises to deliver the power and capability of a heavy-duty truck, but with increased efficiency. Rated at 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, and with the ability to tow up to 12,000 pounds, the new Titan will rival the Ram 1500 and its V6 EcoDiesel.

Get Your Hopes up for the New 2016 Nissan Titan

Nissan Titan

Here at James Ceranti Nissan, we can’t wait for January. We know, we know—the calendar has only just turned to August, but we can’t help it. You see, Nissan is planning to unveil an all-new Nissan Titan pickup truck at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit this coming January, and we just can’t take the long wait. Thank goodness for Torque News, though—they recently put together a wish list for the new 2016 Nissan Titan, and we devoured the list and now we’d like to share it with you as well.

You can read that article on the Torque News website, where you’ll see that the Titan is expected to include more—and bigger—powertrain options. First and foremost, you should see a Cummins diesel engine option, a 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel Engine that will deliver massive numbers. Of course, that diesel engine, and other powertrain options, will also help the Titan bring better gas mileage to the table for the next generation of truck drivers.

Check out the rest of Torque News’ wish list, and then maybe even add your own items to that list. And, of course, come see us here at James Ceranti to check out the Titan—and the rest of the Nissan lineup—for yourself today.
