As America’s most affordable pickup, the Nissan Frontier provides excellent power from its 4.0-liter V6 engine and a superb towing capacity of up to 6,720 pounds. Still, Nissan decided to up the ante for those seeking overland adventures. Thus, the Destination Frontier was born.
Tiago Castro, director of Light Commercial Vehicles at
Nissan North America, explained it best: “This special Destination
Frontier is designed to do two things: first, demonstrate Frontier’s
durability, quality and reliability, even when traveling to remote
destinations. And second, to help democratize the overlanding experience by
showing a more affordable approach to the sport.”
It started with a 2019 Frontier SV 4×4 Midnight Edition with
Crew Cab and adds tons of extra features. Nissan added extra ground clearance
with a Nisstec 3-inch lift kit. Skid plates and rock sliders protect the engine
and transmission over rough terrain, while the Hefty Fabworks front bumper comes
equipped with a WARN winch, winch hook, and winch roller.
Overlanding takes you through tough landscapes and climates,
so Nissan beefed up the traction with Nitto Trail Grappler off-road tires
mounted on American Racing AX201 wheels. And for extended trips, a Leitner
Designs bed rack is topped with a comfortable CVT Mt. Shasta rooftop tent,
turning the epic SUV into home base.
The Nissan Destination Frontier comes with more features to tame the wilderness, and is available to order through James Ceranti Nissan.
In today’s compact pickup segment, the 2014 Nissan Frontier is a solid choice. Nissan is not interested in pandering to fads with this truck. In fact, its body style hasn’t changed in almost fifteen years. Clearly, the automaker has sought to create a tradition of ruggedness and reliability with the Frontier.
As any viable truck should, the 2014 Nissan Frontier has got lots of power. It achieves 261 hp with a V-6 4.0L engine and 281 pound-feet of torque. This allows it to tow up to 6,500 lbs and haul 1,500 lbs.
There’s an off-road trim package that takes the Frontier to another level. The Pro-4X gives the Nissan more rugged tires. It’s got improved shocks and skid plates. And if you pick up the manual version, it’s got this really cool feature where you can start the truck without holding down the clutch.
Remember, the Frontier is a compact truck. It’s not bulky. It can be more easily manipulated in tight driving situations. Combine its nimbleness with its power and you’ve got an appealing truck that’s hard to ignore. So visit James Ceranti Nissan to check out the Frontier and other great Nissan models!
The 2014 model year brings many changes to the Nissan family, including the next-generation Rogue, but for the Altima coupe, it’s time to say goodbye. The current generation won buyers over with its clean lines and sharp styling. While it’s unlikely that Nissan will release another coupe, the current one was released about a year after the sedan hit dealerships.
New For the 2014 model year are the Versa Note hatchback, the NV200 Compact Cargo van and the next-generation Rogue compact SUV. The Pathfinder hybrid will also be added later in the fall. Several models are also receiving enhancements this year, including the sedan version of the Altima, which now comes standard with the CVT transmission, the Frontier, which gets updated options packs, enhanced navigations functionality, and a sliding rear window.
