Nissan Gives Reddit User Best Gift Ever

Nissan Makes Major Donation to Nature Conservancy as Best Gift Ever for Reddit UserThink back to some of your favorite gifts that you have ever received. No matter how much they cost, odds are high that they were thoughtful and in-tune with the things you love and care about most. Nissan recently gave one Reddit user the best gift ever as part of Reddit’s Arbitrary Day.

Arbitrary Day is a sort of Secret Santa-type gift exchange during which Reddit users are paired up and exchange gifts worth at least $20. Nissan was matched with user wahoowa0711, also known as Mary. In a true show of generosity, Nissan donated about $20,000 to the Nature Conservancy in Mary’s name to have nearly 17,000 red spruce trees planted in the Central Appalachian Mountains in her home state of Virginia.

“When we learned that our gift match, Mary, had a passion for the environment we wanted to give her something that she could treasure at home… and something that would make a difference in her home state of Virginia,” Erich Marx, Director of Social Media for Nissan, told The Huffington Post. “A gift like this, 16,655 red spruce trees, fits well with Nissan’s corporate commitment to help create a more sustainable society.”

And for the part that “she could treasure at home,” Nissan is having a painting commissioned of “Mary’s Grove” because the automaker learned she likes to paint.

Wow! What a great show of generosity from Nissan and here at James Ceranti Nissan, we think that truly is the best gift ever for one very lucky Reddit user.
