Diesel Nissan Titan Gets Tough

Diesel Nissan Titan

The new diesel Nissan Titan was made for the driver that wants their truck to be tough.

If you want your pickup to be big, tough, and bold, the new diesel Nissan Titan was made for you. Nissan has taken macho and rugged to the extreme with the 2016 Titan, in hopes of reviving the pickup’s demand and pulling in a much bigger market share.

When the Titan’s designers went to work, they took inspiration from the truck’s name. In an effort to make the pickup a “titan” among its rivals, the designers used the Titan’s new design to bring to life the toughest warriors and athletes they could imagine. According to USA Today, the designers at Nissan’s design headquarters in San Diego studied the images of bulky NFL players and armored gladiators, even posting pictures around their offices. The result? A modern, muscular pickup with masculine hardware and bold character lines.

The Titan doesn’t just appear to be powerful; it actually is. One of the Titan’s biggest advantages it its new 5.0-liter Cummins V8 diesel engine, which promises to deliver the power and capability of a heavy-duty truck, but with increased efficiency. Rated at 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, and with the ability to tow up to 12,000 pounds, the new Titan will rival the Ram 1500 and its V6 EcoDiesel.

Nissan Titan Development Documented In Titan Truckumentary

Nissan Titan Truckumentary

Nissan will document the development of the Nissan Titan through their new series called “Nissan Titan Truckumentary”

Vehicle development is not unlike the development of a human being. It requires planning, inspiration, design, discipline and patience, among other things. That is, if you want the vehicle (or human being) to thrive and be successful.

This is certainly the case with the new Nissan Titan. And so Nissan documented the Nissan Titan development process in a series it’s calling “Nissan Titan Truckumentary.” In a press release, Nissan North America’s Director of Product Planning for trucks and SUVs and Chief Product Specialist for the next-generation Titan, Rich Miller, said, “It’s the continuing story of the vehicle’s evolution, accompanied by a close look at the American-based team that is bringing this all-new truck to market.”

A teaser to head off the Titan Truckumentary series tells us that “top-notch engineers” were involved in development. One of these engineers promises, “The Cummins diesel is going to be an incredible addition to our lineup.” We here at James Ceranti Nissan are excited to hear more about the much-anticipated Titan!
