Nissan Sales Breaks August Records

Nissan logo

Nissan is on a roll, and growing quickly. The automaker has reported its August sales figures, and Nissan is boasting an impressive 15.3 percent jump for the brand. Nissan sales totaled 125,224 units in August, which marks a record for the brand and 22 consecutive months of year-over-year sales increases.

It seems that drivers were anxious to get out of the house and into a new car in August this year, with Nissan’s cars breaking several sales records across the lineup. Not surprisingly, the Altima led the way with 32,153 units sold, which marks a 3.8 percent year-over-year increase and a monthly record.

The Nissan Leaf also saw its best August ever, 3,186 vehicles sold, a 31.7 percent year-over-year increase. Since just the beginning of 2014, LEAF sales have climbed a massive 34.1 percent.

The Rogue also came in big, with August sales totaling 21,419 units – a 24 percent increase. This doesn’t just mark the best August for the Rogue, but its best month in sales ever.

In addition to the above all-stars, the Sentra was up 36.3 percent having sold 17,182 units, the Versa was up 46.4 percent with 14,630 vehicles sold, the Maxima was up 62.1 percent with 6,110 vehicles sold, and the Murano was up 42.5 percent with 5,594 vehicles sold.

If Nissan is setting the pace for sales in the years to come, we have a whole lot to look forward to. Drop by James Ceranti Nissan to learn more about our impressive lineup!

Nissan Making More Hybrid Models

2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid

2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid

Rumors have been circulating lately that Nissan will be adding more of its models to the list of hybrids sometime around 2015. The latest to join the family will be the Rogue and the Murano. In the past, Nissan has shied away from hybrid vehicles, offering only the Altima, which is limited in production. But changes can be expected as Nissan plans to launch a total of 15 electric vehicles by 2016.

The Pathfinder Hybrid will go on sale this fall, kicking off these new hybrid endeavors for the automaker. There has also been talk of a different variation of the Altima Hybrid as well. The Pathfinder’s specifications may be mirrored in the release of the new Rogue and Murano, so look forward to a 2.5-liter supercharged engine, and a lithium-ion battery pack.

We haven’t heard word on the release date of the Murano, but the 2014 Nissan Rogue will be revealed September 10. Are you excited to see more options available in the Nissan lineup?

Nissan NV Finds New Work as Ambulances and Repair Trucks

We live in a changing world where not every car is stereotyped as it once was. Not every police cruiser is a Crown Victoria, not every executive car is a Town Car and not every ambulance is based on an Econoline van. Vehicles like the new Nissan NV200 are making inroads into the service, livery and emergency vehicle markets.

For example, 30 new ambulances based on the heavier-duty NV2500 chassis has recently rolled off of the production line and they will be used by the Mexican Red Cross fleet of emergency vehicles this year. The Mexican Red Cross says it receives 1,200,000 ambulance service requests per year, so the mettle of these new machines will be tested in a hurry.

The second example is less useful for life-saving, but may save a guitar from going to the scrap heap. Called the Gibson NV200 Mobile Repair & Restoration Van, it can take the services of an authorized Gibson rep anywhere they’re needed to repair or restore an axe in need. The van features a whole aesthetic designed to evoke the classic Gibson look, with wood veneer and shades of brown and black used throughout. There’s a guitar rack that holds four instruments, a sliding 56-inch long repair table, toolbox, genuine Gibson stools and a sound system by Gibson Pro Audio.
